willkommen zu READ THE ROOM in der EOTO Bibliothek!
Mit dieser neuen Serie, bisher bekannt als #blacklibrary, möchten wir euch in regelmäßigen Abständen eines der über 8.000 Bücher der EOTO Bibliothek vorstellen.
Die EOTO Bibliothek ist ein Ort für Recherche zu afrodiasporischer Literatur, Philosophie und Kultur und bietet mit dem Sankofa BRD/Sankofa DDR Archiv eine einmalige Sammlung von Primärquellen zu Schwarzer Deutscher Geschichte zur Wendezeit. Die Bibliothek stellt die aus EOTOs Antidiskriminierungs-Projekt EACH ONE gewonnenen Inhalte zu Anti-Schwarzem Rassismus in Deutschland und Europa bereit und ermöglicht Betroffenen, Fachleuten aus Politik, Medien und Kultur, sich über Rassismus- und Diskriminierungsprävention zu informieren.
Sie bietet Schreibsalons, in denen junge von erfahrenen Schwarzen Autor*innen lernen, sie ist Treffpunkt unterschiedlicher afrodiasporischer Communities und Initiativen und ein Ort, an dem ein Literatur-Lifestyle gelebt wird, der Prosa, Film, Aktivismus, Mode, Poetry, Politik, Musik, Spoken Word, Wissenschaftlichkeit und lockeres Beisammensein verbindet.
Die Bibliothek ist jeden Dienstag und Donnerstag von 14:00 – 18:00 Uhr geöffnet.

Welcome to READ THE ROOM at the EOTO library!
With this new series, previously known as #blacklibrary, we would like to introduce you to one of the over 8,000 books in the EOTO library at regular intervals.
The EOTO Library is a place for research on Afro-diasporic literature, philosophy and culture and, with the Sankofa BRD/Sankofa DDR Archive, offers a unique collection of primary sources on Black German history at the time of German reunification. The library provides the content on anti-Black racism in Germany and Europe gained from EOTO's anti-discrimination project EACH ONE and enables those affected, professionals from politics, media and culture to learn about racism and discrimination prevention.
It offers writing salons where young Black writers learn from experienced Black writers, it is a meeting place for different Afro-diasporic communities and initiatives, and a place where a literary lifestyle is lived that combines prose, film, activism, fashion, poetry, politics, music, spoken word, scholarship and casual get-togethers.
The library is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 14:00 - 18:00.
