1st Generation Summit:
“Mental Health, Identity and Resilience”

Dear Communities,

this edition of the 1st Generation summit, focuses on mental health within Black communities. Research and lived experiences show that Black people in Germany and across Europe often access psychological support less frequently due to stigma, a lack of culturally competent services, limited knowledge of available support structures, and strong expectations of resilience within families and communities.

The event aims to create an open, community-centred space where these issues can be addressed collectively through dialogue, reflection, and the sharing of knowledge and healing practices.
