Each One Teach One (EOTO) e.V. and Poetry_lab are delighted to announce our 2020 creative writing workshops, which started online on July 5, 2020. Registration is still open, the workshops and show case events continue throughout the months of July, August, September.
Poetry_lab is an extensive creative writing mentorship program for BPoC poets/performance writers in Berlin. An integral part of the program are the poetry show case events, where participants get the chance to perform, experiment and apply the knowledge gathered from the workshops.
Poetrylab is an empowerment program explicitly for people of African descent. We want to give Black people the opportunity to open up in a safer space, share stories and express themselves artistically without being exposed to potentially racist situations. Participants will be part of Poetrylab’s creative writing, voice control and performance techniques workshops as well as all Poetry Lab 2020 showcase events.
We invite aspiring poets, emerging poets and spoken-word performers to apply by sending submissions to: event.poetrylab@gmail.com
Required documents are: a statement of motivation (Max 500 words, DOC or PDF), 1 image (JPEG, PNG, 2MB max)
Workshops will take place on online platforms as well as in person group settings (COVID-19 safety measures will be in place). Workshops are approximately 3hrs. The workshops and show case events are free. Participation is limited to 15 persons.
