Community Fashion-Workshop*: »The Street: Where Worlds Emerge«

Ayoka Bar, Friedrichstraße 182, 10117 Berlin

The street is much more than just a path from A to B —it is the place where we make our presence felt and reinvent the world every day. From the subversive deconstruction of professional dress codes by Youssef Drissi’s avant-garde label Late for Work from Casablanca, the visionary streetwear and upcycling vibe of the Parisian collective (V)L$D MOB—the duo Soulja and Veace—and the cool hoodies from Nicolas Premier’s Africa is the future (AITF) platform, the sidewalk becomes a real-life runway.

»Green and Evil – Green Colonialism«

expand

In Green and Evil (2025), Kenyan ecologist Mordecai Ogada subjects modern conservation in Africa to a radical deconstruction. His criticism is directed at international NGOs and Western donors, whom he accuses of exercising control over African land under the guise of ecological rescue, thereby systematically marginalizing the local population or forcibly displacing them from their own land.

READINGS & CONVERSATIONS:: »African History/Stories: An Exchange on Paradigms of Contemporary Narrative Worlds«

EOTO e.V., Togostr. 76, 13351 Berlin

A conversation between Booker Prize winner Ben Okri and literary scholar Ainehi Edoro. Drawing on Edoro’s Forest Imaginaries: How African Novels Think (2026), they analyze African literatures as imaginative and ritualistic spheres that reveal their »deeper soul.« In addition to Okri’s new novel Madame Sosostris and the Festival for the Broken-Hearted (2025), the anthology African Stories (2025), which he edited, will be presented. Together with guests, they will explore the African novel as a medium of contemporary thought and complex emotional structures.
